Independent label: Angel Records was Founded By Kingsley Harris In 1982 As A Tape Cassette Label Although It Did Release Several Singles. Including The Norwich Local Band-Aid Single. ABP 002 was the first vinyl pressing after having originally started out as a cassette-only label. The single was released in April 1988 and the debut single of the Norwich band Impact. The cover was a white gloss wrap-over which became the labels preferred wrapping. Only 200 covers were printed for the 500 records pressed. Many of the records were unsold so scrapped. A mint cover for the record 'does not' exist as the guitarist noticed that the printer had set a roller incorrectly and it had lightly scored a line through all 200 covers - through the band's picture and the palm tree. The covers do mark quickly and often show signs of ring wear. ABP 003. The second vinyl pressing after having originally started out as a cassette-only label. The single was not released with distribution and all the copies sold were bought locally in Norwich, with the exception of PR copies sent out to get promotion and airplay. The single was tied into the Thrash 4 Cash charity gigs to raise money for local charities. The single is often referred to as the Norwich Band Aid single as it featured over 20 local artists on the main track. The Flesh & Blood track had originally been recorded in 1986 and went out on a Norwich Band compilation cassette. The 7" single was released in July 1988 at the third and final TFC charity gig at The Brickmakers venue, Norwich. The cost of the single was split three ways and paid for by the other bands appearing on the EP. 500 copies were pressed and each band took 125 copies leaving the money from the remaining 125 copies to go to charity. Only around 300 copies had the wrap-over sleeves, 200 all blue and 100 with a red block foil logo. The red foil sleeves were the charity ones. I think some bands didn't want sleeves, that information is a bit hazy! the record pressed at SRT Cambridge. The label closed in 1989. It managed three singles and one cassette. It issued singles in ABP-000 numerical series. Distributed By Angel Records.
