CARRERE
RECORDS
Independent label: Carrere was founded by French
producer Claude Carrere. It seems to have specialised in
disco-friendly Europop - Dollar's records spring to mind - though it enjoyed
considerable success in Britain in the 1980s with Rock group Saxon.
Early singles shared an EMI-2000 catalogue sequence with those of EMI; the
later, WEA-distributed, issues had their own CAR 100 series.
