Independent Ska And Two Tone label: In 1985, lead guitarist Gerry Lennon then attending Mabel Fletcher Music College, visited a number of Liverpool music venues and noticed a talented bassist, Tony Madigan, playing with an unknown band. Together with drummer John Tobin, The Pictures band was born. The Pictures performed regularly as a 3 piece at local venues before extending their work by undertaking a tour throughout the whole of North West England. 1987 saw The Pictures entered a studio to record a commercially based self-penned song entitled An Independent Heart.
