Independent label: Cinque Ports Music also known as CPM. The company came into proper existence in 1984 with the retirement of two Warrant Officers of the Royal Marines Band Service. They had over 56 years of experience between them — one retiring as the Corps Bandmaster and the other as the Chief Librarian. Both sought to continue their musical career and felt that it would be a total waste of their experience if they did not continue to develop their knowledge of military (wind) band music. The company was originally established in 1978 whilst both were serving in the Royal Marines Band, but was set up on an official basis upon their retirement with the aim of publishing music for military and brass band, much of it written by our ex-colleagues in the Royal Marines.
