COW PIE
RECORDS
Independent label: Cow Pie Records was a British
Country label, set up by B. J. Cole and based in Palmers Green, London N13. In
association with United Artists, Cow Pie Productions issued three singles, by
Cole himself, Nancy Pepper and Thom Fricker, in 1978-79, and there was also a
Nancy Pepper album. The singles were marketed by United Artists, with EMI being
responsible for manufacture and distribution, and they shared a numerical series
with UA's own singles. Cow Pie appears to have struck out on its own in 1980,
severing the connection with UA and introducing a new label design and PIE-000
catalogue numbers. At least five singles and two albums were issued from
1980-82; the artists involved were the Hank Wangford Band and Ricky Cool.Cow Pie
