Dafala Records was a DIY Reggae label. It managed one
single. It issued singles in DAF-000 numerical series. Winston Reedy was
born in St.Catherine, Jamaica. He attended a local school in Mount Industry
before coming to England in 1967 where he settled with his parents on North
London. Winston`s musical career began seriously in 1971 after joining the Pama
Record Stables. His first single released, was a rendition of the classic
"Breakfast In Bed" produced by Ronnie Williams. This proved to be a hit for
Winston and immediately established him as a credible singer with great
potential to watch out for in the future. In 1973 he became the lead singer for
the top UK Reggae band The Cimarons. In 1982 he decided to embark on a solo
career. His first solo single after leaving the band was "Daughter Of Zion"
which was a huge success and gave him a No. 1 Hit in the UK Reggae Charts. This
was preceded by a string of chart-topping hits like "Paradise In Your Eyes",
"Moi Emma Oh" and "Dim The Lights" which held the No. 1 position for nine weeks.
The album "Dim The Lights" followed to acclaimed reviews form the critics and
was an instant No. 1 Hit. Distributed By Dafala Records.
