Independent
label: Decal Records was a Sub Label of Parent Label Charly Records. It
managed at least two singles. By Ian Gomm. It issued singles in Charly
Records CYZ 7 100 numerical series. Distributed By Charly Records.
Charly Records is a label specializing in reissuing old music, most
notably from the Sun Record Company and Vee Jay Records catalogs. It
was founded by Jean-Luc Young in France in 1974, moved to England in
1975. Charly Records in the 70s, the label repeatedly released and
sub-licensed recordings without the approval of artists. Charly Records
(UK) Limited was dissolved in 2001, and under new management became
part of the Snapper Music group. Ian Gomm
Real
Name: Ian Robert Gomm. A recording engineer, technician and rhythm
guitarist with Brinsley Schwarz and in the group from September 1970.
When the group disbanded in 1975 Gomm moved to Wales, where he set up a
recording studio. In addition to producing his own work, Gomm has
recorded - among others - The Stranglers, Alexis Korner, Peter Hammill
and Amon Duul. His career in later life certainly aided by his earlier
teenage apprenticeship in mechanical and electronic engineering during
his 5 years at EMI Records Ltd., in Hayes, Middlesex.
