Dooyah Records was a DIY label. It managed one
single. An Srt Custom Pressing. It issued singles in SRT-1000 numerical series.
Distributed By Dooyah Records. Dooyah! Under Garry Winkler’s Globaldale
Management, DOOYAH! flourished 1986/88 on the R&B scene and live band
circuit across the UK. Working with the likes of Fast Freddie and the
Fingertips, The Boogie Brothers Blues Band, The Bay City Rollers and Georgie
Flame and the Blue Flames. Gary Thompson and Jeff did several radio interviews
to promote the single, including Capital Radio, BBC Essex Radio and Greater
London Radio. Lead songwriter Gary Thompson had previously had chart success
with seventies new wave band Tonight. Dave Dulake went on to front Virgo Intacta
and Jeff Kristian has a solo recording and songwriting career. Band Members were
Jeff Kristian (Vocals), Gary Thompson (Guitar/Vocals), Dean Mahoney (Bass), Dave
Dulake (Keyboards/Vocals), Pat McNamara (Guitar), Graeme Turner (Sax/Flute),
Rick Mounsey (Drums 1), Davyd Locke (Drums 2). The release of their 1988 single
Love's Where You Find It came shortly after Jeff Kristian, Graeme Turner and
Dean Mahoney left the band. Subsequently, new member Rob Fricker is credited
with bass guitar and vocals on the record's sleeve.
