known professionally as Jimmy James, is a British-Jamaican soul singer, known
for songs like "Come to Me Softly", "Now Is the Time" and "I'll Go Where Your
Music Takes Me". Based in Britain, he has performed as the lead singer of Jimmy
James and the Vagabonds since the mid-1960s. Boys Town Gang was a studio group
formed in 1980 by San Francisco disco DJ Bill Motley. The group consisted of the
following vocalists: Lead vocals: Jackson Moore Back-up vocals Robin Charin, Don
Wood, Tom Morley and Keith Stewart. Billy Preston Real Name: William Everett
Preston was a Soul musician, born September 2, 1946, Houston, Texas. He died
June 6, 2006, Scottsdale, Arizona. Preston was an American rhythm and blues
musician from Houston, Texas: raised mostly in Los Angeles, California. In
addition to his successful, Grammy Award-winning career as a solo artist,
Preston collaborated with some of the greatest names in the music industry,
including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Band, Nat King Cole, Little
Richard, Eric Burdon, Ray Charles, George Harrison, Elton John, Eric Clapton,
Bob Dylan, Sam Cooke, King Curtis, Sammy Davis Jr., Aretha Franklin, the Jackson
5, Quincy Jones, Mick Jagger, Richie Sambora, Sly Stone, Johnny Cash, Neil
Diamond, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Ringo Starr. He played the Fender Rhodes
electric piano and the Hammond organ on the 'Get Back' sessions in 1969. Jimmy
Ruffin
Real Name: Jimmy Lee Ruffin was Born May 7, 1939, Collinsville,
Mississippi, is an American soul singer, and older brother of the late David
Ruffin of The Temptations. He had several hit records between the 1960s and
1980s, the most successful being 1966's "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted." He
passed away November 17th, 2014 in Las Vegas at the age of 78. Sylvester Real
Name: Sylvester James, Jr. was an American disco and soul vocalist, musician,
bandleader, songwriter, and producer. Born: 6 September 1947 in Watts, Los
Angeles, California, USA. and Died: 16 December 1988 in San Francisco,
California, USA. Performing under his first name only, he is considered one of
the first Hi-NRG artists and the first “male diva” of disco. He died in 1988
from complications due to AIDS.
