Granite Wax Records was a DIY label. It
managed one single. It issued singles in GWS-0 numerical series. Granite
Wax Records Former Address: 91 King Street Aberdeen Scotland AB2 3AB.
PALLAS was an Aberdeen based Progressive Rock band they released one 7" record,
recorded in Paisley, entitled 'Arrive Alive' on their own Granite Wax Records in
1981, just in time to join the Prog Rock revival of the early 80s. The band was
formulated in 1974 originally titled RAINBOW with a line-up of vocalist George
Gibson, guitarist Dave Taylor, bassist Graeme Murray, keyboard player Mike
Stobbie and drummer Colin Rae. The latter was soon replaced by Ali Milne and
subsequently Brian Wood took over vocals and Dave Holt ousted Taylor.
