Gripping Youth Records was a DIY label. It managed one single. It issued singles in GRIP-0 numerical series. The Grip, 9 piece multiracial reggae band from Dundee. Gigged extensivly throughout Scotland and UK 1982/83. Released one 7" single 'Keeping The Peace' on Gripping Youth Records 1982. Published by Oily Records, Aberdeen. Recorded at Wilf Smarties Studio, Edinburgh. Also released limited edition 12" white label, DJ promo, 'Englishman', recorded live at the Mad Professors first home studio (in his living room), London 1983.
