Independent label: Hot Records was an
Australian record label that was co-founded in 1982 by Graeme Regan and Martin
Jennings.
By 1995 the label had establish a second office in Sussex, United
Kingdom. Circa 1998 the Spit Junction office in NSW, Australia started being
branded on releases as the record label 'Didgeridoo Records'. By the late 1980s,
the label had run out of money, leading Regan to enter management for artists
such as Ed Kuepper. It managed two singles. It issued singles in an HOT-000
numerical series. Distributed By The Cartel and Rough Trade Records. The
Triffids were an Australian alternative rock and pop band, formed in Perth in
Western Australia in May 1978 with David McComb as singer-songwriter, guitarist,
bass guitarist and keyboardist. They achieved some success in Australia, but
greater success in the UK and Scandinavia in the 1980s before disbanding in
1989. Their best-known songs include "Wide Open Road" (February 1986) and "Bury
Me Deep in Love" (October 1987).
