Midas Records was a DIY label. It managed one single.
It issued singles in MIDAS-0 numerical series. Detroit
Emeralds was a Soul group Formed in Little Rock, Arkansas in the 60's. Active
since late 60's until late 70's. Released six albums. Initially comprised by
four Tilmon Brothers - Abrim, Ivory, Cleophus, and Raymond. They first two moved
to Detroit and along with James Mitchell they formed the trio that was signed at
Westbound. Between 1971 - 1973 their backing band were Chapter 8. Their biggest
hit was "Feel The Need" as well as "Do Me Right," "You Want It, You Got It," and
"Baby Let Me Take You (In My Arms)". In 1977 they changed line up: Abrim Tilmon
hired Paul Riser and Maurice King in the group as well as he recruited his
long-time associate Johnny Allen as permanent member. James Mitchell and Marvin
Willis formed the soul disco group The Floaters. Distributed By Jet Star
