Independent label: The Pencils was Formed in 1980, this North London based band settled on a line-up in early 1981 which comprised former JETZ members, Tony Skeggs - Vocals and Guitar Den Pugsley - Vocals and Bass Andy Welsford (Wells) - Drums ). With the addition of Rick Birmingham (Keyboard), the band gigged extensively on the London circuit for 3 years. They were signed to Derek Nichol's DNO Management in Autumn 1981 and released 3 singles on the Next Record Label between July 1982 and April 1983. The Pencils performed their final show on July 29th, 1983. Distributed By C.B.S. Records Ltd. Vampires Band Members were Steve Voice (bass, vocals), Fletcher (guitar), Mark Allen (drums).
