Page Records was a DIY label. It
managed one single. It issued singles in AH-1000 numerical
series. The Famous Players were a quality power-pop band from South London.
Comprising of Norman Layne (Guitar / Vocals), Ralph Dunlop (Bass / Backing Voc),
Gordon Reaney (Lead Guitar) and Keith Beasley (Drums) the tracks on the disc
were recorded in June 1979 at the home studio of Epsom based Rob Davis and Ray
Stiles of Mud fame, with Ray doing most of the production, and Rob adding top
note backing vocals on the B side, “Angel In Black”. Disc was released
posthumously, as the band had split up by Feb 1980. Distributed By Page 43
