PRO
RECORDS
Pro Records was an Independent label. It
managed two singles. It issued singles in PRO-000 numerical series.
Distributed By Pro Records 168 Empire Road, Perivale, Wembley, Middlesex. Eye
Witness Band Members were Drums: Jade Green, Bass: Mike Budding, Keyboards:
Delford Briscoe, Soprano Sax: Keith Basie Thomas, Congas: Jimmy Scott, Rhythm
Guitar: Raymond Perre, lead Guitar & Vocals: Richard Hall. Charmaine
Burnette was pretty much unknown and untested as a singer, but Dennis Forbes
heard potential in her voice. Recorded in London's Chinatown where Dean Fraser
and an all-Jamaican band were gathered, Burnette recorded her first single "Am I
the Same Girl," recorded in the same session as Sugar Minott's "Got a Good Thing
Going." The heavy bass drum and sweet vocal combination wasn't right for its
time but is just right for today's fat subwoofers and deep bass
bins.
