Educational Limited. In 1971 Roger Hargreaves Invented the Mr. Men, featured in
39 books published over the next seven years, and an animated series that
started in 1975. Actor Arthur Lowe provided the voices, and also featured on the
first Mr. Men Songs LP, released by Epic in 1976 and reissued on BBC Records in
1979. The songs, composed by Hargreaves and Joe Campbell were unusually diverse
and boasted arrangements by ‘Grandstand’ composer/library music legend Keith
Mansfield. 1982 saw the release of ‘Up To Ten with the Mr. Men’, featuring the
‘Mr. Men Song’ performed by Roy Castle. Distributed By R.S.E
