Independent label: Red Alert were а British punk/oi!-band, formed in Sunderland, in May 1979. Red Alert's original line-up — Steve 'Cast Iron' Smith (vocals), Tony Van Frater (Guitar), Gaz Stuart (bass) and Dona (drums). Geddes Axe were a Nwobhm act out of Sheffield, UK. Forming in 1979, the band released their first single; “Return of the Gods” in 1980, followed by “Sharpen Yor Wits” - another single in 1982. Their final release was the EP “Escape from New York” in 1983, before the band split up. line-up included: Tony Rose - vocals, Martin Wilson - guitars, Nick Brown - guitars, Mick Peace - bass, John Burke - drums.
