Independent label: Animal Records was
a Sub-label of Chrysalis Records it started in the early 80s by Blondie
guitarist Chris Stein. Released material by Gun Club, Iggy Pop and James White
& The Blacks. It is well regarded in hip-hop circles for releasing the
soundtrack to Charlie Ahearn's "Wild Style" movie. The label folded in 1983 when
Chris Stein was struck down by serious illness. Distributed By Chrysalis
