director of Gale Records / Management. Alvin Stardust Real Name: Bernard William
Jewry. Born: 27 September 1942 London, Died: 23 October 2014. Known
professionally as Shane Fenton and later as Alvin Stardust, was an English rock
singer and stage actor. Performing first as Shane Fenton in the 1960s, Jewry had
a moderately successful career in the pre-Beatles era, hitting the UK top 40
with four singles in 1961–62. However, he became better known for singles
released in the 1970s and 1980s as Alvin Stardust, a character he began in the
glam rock era, with hits including the UK Singles Chart-topper "Jealous Mind",
as well as later hits such as "Pretend" and "I Feel Like Buddy Holly". Stardust
died at home after a brief illness; this was confirmed by his manager on 23
October 2014. His funeral was held in St. Thomas Church, Swansea, He had been
diagnosed with prostate cancer 18 months earlier, which later metastasised.
Stepaside was Named after a Dublin Irish Suburb 'Stepaside" they were formed in
1971. They were originally A Country Rock Band but grew through the 1970's into
a bland of Pop Rock and Power Pop by the time they got to the 1980's They toured
briefly with Leo Sayer and Dire Straits. The Fureys & Davey Arthur was an
Irish male folk band of four brothers and their friend Davey Arthur. Finbar
& Eddie Furey played together as a duo in the 1960s, while George, Paul and
Davey played together as The Buskers. In 1978, they joined together and became
the Fureys and Davey Arthur. Davey Arthur left the group in 1993 (though he
returned for a number of recordings until he had a stroke in 2014) and they
continued as The Fureys. Junior Campbell (born William Campbell Jnr, 31 May
1947) is a Scottish composer, songwriter and musician. He was a founding member,
lead guitarist, piano player, and singer with the Scottish band Marmalade and
co-wrote and produced some of their biggest successes, including "Reflections of
My Life", "I See the Rain" and "Rainbow". "Reflections of My Life" has produced
sales of over two million units. In 1998 Campbell and co-writer Dean Ford
(Thomas McAleese) were awarded a Special Citation of Achievement by the BMI for
attaining radio broadcast performances in excess of one million in the US alone.
He also wrote and produced his own solo hits, Hallelujah Freedom and Sweet
Illusion and "Carolina Days". Campbell is also known for composing music for
film and television drama, and as an arranger and producer for many musicians
including Barbara Dickson.
